Ringworm questions- please HELP!?
I've had this debilitating skin problem for 3 years running. Can ringworm last that long if untreated? It started off on my jawline in an isolated, circular-like pattern that itched. Since then I've had problems with it appearing on odd spots on my body, everywhere but the feet. It spreads when I scratch it. It does seem braised at times, and the worst area afflicted is my forehead, which has a halfmoon patterned rash beginning on the temples and encompassing the entire forehead. This same halfmoon pattern has occurred around my mouth. I've had isolated scabs on above and below the lip and on the forehead that only went away when voraciously attacked with steroid cream treatment. In addition, I have a scalp that itches and scabs that form. They weep when I pick at them. This was diagnosed as eczema, but now I think its a fungal ringworm infection that may have also become bacterial, that also mixed with some eczema, which I've had since I was a child. I try to minimize showers as well because the afflicted skin becomes red and inflamed after contact with hot water. It seems like the steroid cream helps but it's only a matter of time before the itching starts up again. What should I do??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
